Carnival season was not the only time to masquerade in New Orleans. This group of charming young ladies enjoyed the Merry Makers’ Masquerade Ball which was held on Halloween Night 1949, at the YMCA with a host of friends in attendance. There were maskers of varied descriptions: Arabians, gypsies, bell hops, chorus girls, and more.
